Set on a Wolverhampton council estate, Raised By Wolves is modern day reimagining of the childhood of Caitlin Moran and her brothers and sisters. Single-mum Della lives in a three bedroom council house with Germaine, Aretha, Yoko, Mariah, Wyatt and baby Cher. She is attempting to raise the children by herself, but does have visits from Grampy, who likes to come around to dispense his wisdom to his grandchildren.
Della takes the kids on holiday to Wales. Germaine and Aretha suffer romantic disappointments, and Della encounters an old flame.
Della is forced into the tertiary economy at the local car boot sale by an unexpectedly painful utility bill, while Germaine becomes cousin Cathy's unwilling assistant.
A pregnancy scare leads Della to recruit Germaine as an intern at work, while Aretha meets a kindred spirit with sensible shoes.
Aretha stuns Della with a request to go to school, prompting memories from Della and Grampy. Germaine brings her new boyfriend over.
The Garrys landlady makes a surprise visit. Della evacuates the kids to their dad's while she goes emergency house-hunting.
Germaine continues to desecrate every societal norm whilst depressed intellectual Aretha becomes even more misanthropic. Grampy begins to enjoy his divorce in a very visceral manner.
